Relaxed Christmas

Children with additional needs can enjoy all the magic and wonder of Christmas in a calm and supportive environment with a ‘relaxed’ festive experience at the Millennium Court Arts Centre, Portadown this December.

The popular Relaxed Christmas Experience, delivered by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, takes place on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 December from 11am-6pm, and is designed for children with sensory processing issues, autism or special educational needs, and their families. Pre-booking is essential and slots are limited. Tickets will be released at 7pm on Friday 26 November 2021.

The magical event begins with a warm greeting from the North Star elf, who will guide you on your way, keeping you fully informed and assured throughout your journey. The experience lasts 20-30 minutes, with families able to go at their own pace. There will be no official photographer present, but your North Star elf will be happy to take photos on your own device if desired.

A visit to Santa’s grotto will be your first stop, here each child will enjoy a very special experience with Santa and will receive a small gift. Families will then be invited to enter a sensory room to enjoy a range of activities including arts and crafts, multi-sensory installations, a virtual reality headset and the opportunity to write and post your own Christmas letter through the North Star mailbox while enjoying a hot chocolate and some sweet treats!

Should anyone need a break at any point throughout the journey, there is a dedicated chill-out zone where you can take some time to yourself.

With limited spaces available, avoid missing out on this very special experience by booking a free family ticket below. Tickets available at 7pm on Friday 26 November.
